is a 501 (c) (3) charitable foundation
formed on November 5, 2001.

HISTORY

The Foundation honors the memory of Joseph and May G. Winston of Scarsdale, New York and the foundation's name carries their initials.
Joseph Winston was a distinguished attorney who practiced in New York City for more than 50 years. He was a graduate of the City College of New York (Phi Beta Kappa) and Columbia University Law School. He also earned an M.A. in comparative literature from Columbia University. Mrs. Winston was a graduate of New York University and was
active in many charitable causes.

MISSION:

The J&M foundation supports higher education through scholarships; scientific and medical research through professorships and fellowships; classical symphonic and chamber music and opera through program sponsorships.
